In 2018, Kudoz was in New Zealand meeting with families and government to test out different value propositions. It’s the first time we have pitched Kudoz to potential Kudoers and Families in a context outside of BC and Canada! Dr. Sarah Schulman and Adele Carpinter, our Kudoz NZ champion, hosted a 6 hour workshop on Kudoz to better understand how it might work in New Zealand. The response and feedback was amazing and informative! Potential Kudoers and families particularly enjoyed reading about the theories that have informed the design of Kudoz: bridging social capital, social cognitive career theory, learned hopefulness, stigma, and growth mindset. They also dove into our still-in-the-works theory of change. Their biggest question was, “How do you build in learning for families along the Kudoz journey?”
Kudoz was even on the radio! You can check out the broadcast here.volume_up
Learning along the way
We also gained some valuable feedback; that our materials, website, and governance need to better reflect the voices of our community members. Kudoz is about co-design; all of our materials including our website has been developed with our end-users not for them. We need to find a better way to reflect this. We are excited about what the next 6 months is going to bring and even more excited about including more of our end-user voices in all things Kudoz! volume_up
