When I heard about the Convention Centre experience, I remember that my mom said it might be an ideal place for me. So I decided to give it a shot! I met the host Stephanie and Richard, the banquet manager. They introduced me to how they set up events and I was having a great time talking with Richard. He was humble, social and incredibly polite. He was impressed by how I learned from just watching him arrange the tables and cutlery. And I thought to myself, I would love it if I could do this as a job.
Now, I work at the Convention Centre on the banquet team. I help them set up and arrange weddings, meetings, presentations, graduations, etc. I’ve been loving every moment of it because of my supportive boss and coworkers - they treat me like I’m a part of the family. They’ve been so open to who I am and what I love to do, which is being an illustrator. I feel like I finally found a place where I can be helpful, where there’s mutual support and where I feel safe.
I think that Kudoz is great for those who want to make a simple change in their life—who want to make friends, learn something new, check out things they didn’t know about and even learn more about themselves.volume_up
